Ambient joyful rocking

Henrik Hytteballe creates an album that, while classified in the “New Age” genre, gives us (our ears and our hearts) far more than that… it is ambient joyful rocking distinct and different from anything you’ve ever listened to before…

There are beautiful crystal-like sounds on the 4:48 “I Receive“, masterfully woven together with heavenly sonics that seem to span the galaxies… I really enjoyed the “time shifts” in the performance, and I predict DJ’s (of all stripes, the world over) will be programming this on their playlists frequently!

Henrik is joined by guitar, Duduk and cello, to great effect, throughout the album… as I listen to the string-laden “Fjord“, a strong sense of melancholy holds forth in the introduction, but when the percussion joins in at about the :38 mark, the tune begins to soar with hope for the future… or, as Henrik says in the liner notes… “It is my wish that this new album reflects this joy and gratitude for life.” – and it certainly does that… there is true POWER in this performance/composition… I loved it.

I strongly recommend that you listen to “Wide Open Spaces” with your headphones on (at least for the first sitting)… the introduction will have you thinking that this is perfect for the ambience of nature, but Henrik weaves scintillating rhythms in at the 1:26 mark that make the performance just SOAR with lots of pleasing visuals… an amazing sonic experience!

The 6:00 “Hummingbirds” wound up being my choice for personal favorite of the ten tunes Henrik offers up… he uses an abundance of textures and swirling instruments to hold you spellbound, and coming back for more… you will hear his musical genius on this wonderful piece of music.

I give Henrik and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for this life-affirming musical gem.  Get more information on Henrik’s MYNDSTREAM page for the album.   You can get your own copy by visiting the stream/sale link, too.                                 Rotcod Zzaj
